Title Tag Too Long
Titles over 60 characters get truncated. Here's how to shorten without losing the keyword.
What it means
The <title> tag is over 60 characters (or ~580 pixels) and gets truncated with an ellipsis in search results.
Why it matters
The truncated portion is wasted — usually your brand name or a CTA. Important keywords can also get cut.
How to fix it
- Cut filler words and pipe separators.
- Move the brand to the end (or drop it if the keyword needs the room).
- Verify the rewrite is 50–58 characters.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use 70 characters if Google sometimes shows them?
Sometimes ≠ always. 60 is the safe ceiling for predictable display.
