We crawl the page like Google does and score it against 13 on-page SEO rules: title length, meta description, single H1, H2 structure, image alt text, content word count, canonical tag, Open Graph image, Twitter card, JSON-LD schema, mobile viewport, HTML lang, and internal-link count. Each rule contributes to the 0–100 score.
Is the SEO score accurate?
The score reflects on-page best practices Google has documented in its own SEO Starter Guide. A page scoring 90+ has the technical fundamentals right. Can I check pages behind login?
No — we only crawl publicly accessible URLs. If a page requires authentication, the checker will report what it sees (often a login screen). To audit gated pages, sign in and copy the rendered HTML, then run a local audit, or sign up for a FreeSEO account for authenticated crawling.
How is this different from PageSpeed Insights?
PageSpeed measures performance (load time, Core Web Vitals). We measure on-page SEO (tags, content, structure). Both matter — use them together. A page that loads in 0.8s but has no <h1> still won't rank.
Will this work on JavaScript-rendered pages?
Yes. We render the page in a real browser before reading the HTML, so React, Vue, Next.js, and other client-rendered sites are fully supported. Static sites are also fine.
